Family

In July I was inspired to start this blog.  Full of ideas and information to share, I pressed publish on my first post and looked forward to writing twice a week.  Unfortunately,  life, with its myriad of issues, waylaid my best intentions.  I owe a debt of gratitude to Guide For Ladies for the lovely comment that spurred me into action.  Please take a moment to hop over to her lovely blog, if you have not already.

Last July saw me with a husband on business in Japan for three weeks, getting a new college freshman ready for classes, a high school sophomore overestimating her time/commitments, a 7th grader more worried about baseball than the quickly approaching first day of school, and myself heading a charity gala to take place in less than two months.  Needless to say, something had to be put aside and it was this blog.

Time and patience have taken care of my summer worries and I now have time to focus on what I hope will be a place you will like to visit and share your thoughts.

When I first envisioned this blog, I thought of growing up in the South and of the lovely ladies who took the time to instill a little loveliness into my life.  These fine examples of Southern grace often held court on their sprawling front porches, retelling old family stories and sharing bits of wisdom.  How I believe we could use a little more of that grace in our modern times, so please join me here, on this virtual front porch, and we'll take the time to get acquainted.
